I don’t really have ONE favourite candy, but I do have a few preferences… 🙂
And when it comes ot seasonal candy, conversation hearts and robin eggs are really good.
But when the urge strikes in the check out line, it can sometimes he hard to find (in my opinion) the good stuff.
While not diabetic, I do have to watch the sugar intake – that crash can be a real bummer!
I like dark chocolate – Mounds are REALLY good and M&M’s are good in pinch – especially the peanut…or mint…ones.
But, if I spot a Pay Day bar, it is a no-brainer to grab one. Love the peanuts and there isn’t a bunch of sugar in them.
But these days, candy in general and especially chocolate candy bars have gotten so expensive that it is often hard to justify the splurge.
Many, many years ago, I worked at a snack bar. regular sized candy bars were just 50 cents each (the wholesale price was 35 cents). Now days it isn’t uncommon to see a $2 price tag on a candy bar. You can’t even find one on sale for a $1!
I don’t often buy candy bars any more; instead I splurge at the local bakery. Their cookies are a bit expensive, but they are also a local business. And sometimes I can get some really good deals from their reduced rack.
The bakery just happens to be across the street from where I do the laundry…so it becomes an obligatory trip to hit the bakery to make a Cookie Monster run. 🙂 Besides, that $2 cookie is a lot bigger than that $2 candy bar.

Paydays are the best.
