On January 22 iHeartRadio released the nominees for the 2025 Music Awards.  iHeartRadio presents the awards for the most played songs/artists on their stations and app.

Like other award shows, iHeartRadio will be paying tribute to Los Angeles and the victims of the wildfires.

Not surprisingly, pop singer Taylor Swift and country star Morgan Wallen top the list of nominees with 10 each including a battle for Artist of the Year.  Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, and Post Maline follow with nine.

In a joint statement president of entertainment enterprises John Sykes and chief programming officer Tom Poleman said, “our iHeartRadio Music Awards show is not a competition. It’s a night where we honor the incredible artists and songs that fans loved all year long – and this year’s show will shine a light on the devastating tragedy that impacted Los Angeles and enable us to deliver on our commitment to the communities we serve.”  There are also a number of fan voted awards where the public will determine the winner.  Fans may cast their votes at iHeartRadio.com/award.  Voting ends on March 10.

Lady Gaga will be presented with the Innovator Award during the ceremonies – an award given to “an artist who’s impacted both music and global culture.”

Spotlighting her “record-shattering” career, Mariah Carey will receive the Icon Award.

In a new award, Taylor Swift will be honoured for her recent Eras tour as the “Tour of the Century”.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards are March 17 and can be seen on FOX and the iHeartRadio app.
