Now that she has retired from professional tennis, Serena Williams has a little extra time on her hands for special events like…hosting the 2024 edition of the ESPY’s. This year’s event to honour the best in sports will be held July 11 in Hollywood.
Williams is the fourth woman to host the event behind Danica Patrick, Sue Bird, and Megan Rapinoe.
The 23 time trophy winner spoke on her opportunity to host the ESPY’s saying, “this is a dream come true for me, and something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember. It has been a sensational year for sports and an unprecedented one for female athletes. I can’t wait to celebrate everyone onstage in July.”
Williams has won 12 ESPY’s on her own, both for prowess at playing tennis and as a role model to future female athletes.
