With some 8,000 photographs, London’s Victoria and Albert Museum holds one of the biggest collections in photography – dating back to the beginning of the art.
Next spring, the museum will feature an exhibit titled “Fragile Beauty” that will include photographs of celebrities and iconic historic events. The photos include contributions form over 140 photographers; with some a part of a collection of photos that were donated to the museum by Sir Elton John and David Furnish.
Among the photos to be included in the exhibit are Marilyn Monroe, Miles Davis and Chet Baker, Black civil rights movement of the 1960s, 1980s AIDS activism and the Sept. 11 attack.
The exhibit opens May 18, 2024 and will run until January 5, 2025.
