For the first time in many weeks “The Lion King” failed to reach the top of the million dollar club. With a 10 day limited run, “El Mago Pop” topped the list with a gross of $3.34 million ($2.72 million) last week.
With one more week before the show closes, “Funny Girl” came in second with $2.13 million. “The Lion King”, “Hamilton”, and “Wicked”.
Not surprisingly, “Sweeney Todd” dropped at the box office with both primary actors out with Covid but still managed to be a part of the Million Dollar Club.
In its last week of production “Good Night, Oscar” was a part of the Million Dollar club bringing in $1.15 million.
With one more week remaining in the summer season, Broadway brought in $27,215,118 with 12 of the 25 productions running reaching at least 90 percent capacity with “Good Night, Oscar” reaching 101 percent capacity.
