There have been just four races in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season with plenty of racing yet to go.  All four of those winners were driving a Chevrolet with Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron winning the last two races in overtime finishes.  Rick Hendrick is just seven race wins away from having a total of 300 wins.  Those 293 wins have been spread out between 20 different drivers.

Over the years HMS has had some pretty impressive drivers in their stable including Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Chase Elliott, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Mark Martin, and Darrell Waltrip – and over a dozen championships; but who tops the list of race winners?

Casey Mears, Jerry Nadeau, Brian Vickers, and Joe Nemechek each won one race for Hendrick Motorsports.

Ken Schrader, Ricky Rudd, and Kyle Busch each have four wins while driving for HMS.

Mark Martin has five of his 40 career wins with Rick Hendrick.

All six of William Byron’s wins so far are while driving the number 24 car for Hendrick Motorsports.  Kasey Kahne also has six wins with HMS.

Geoff Bodine and current driver Alex Bowman each have seven wins with HMS.  All of Bowman’s wins are while driving for MHS after he took over when Dale Earnhardt Jr retired.

A trio of NASCAR legends have nine wins each while driving for Rick Hendrick – Tim Richmond, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Darrell Waltrip.

Terry Labonte is the first driver with double digit wins while driving for HMS with 12.

Current HMS driver Kyle Larson has racked up 13 of his 19 wins while driving the number five car.

NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver Chase Elliott has earned all 18 of his wins with Hendrick Motorsports.

Known as “Mr. Seven Time”, Jimmie Johnson spent his entire full time Cup Series career at HMS and earned Rick Hendrick 83 wins.

And the top winningest driver at Hendrick Motorsports is four time Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon with 93.

Currently the four HMS drivers – William Byron, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, and Kyle Larson – have a total of 44 wins.  But which one of them will earn Rick Hendrick number 300?  Chase Elliott is out with a broken leg after a snowboarding accident and Josh Berry has been filling in and after finishing the race in tenth place at Phoenix, can Berry add his name to the list of winners as a substitute driver?

With 32 races remaining in the 2023 season, HMS drivers will have plenty of opportunities to add to Rick Hendricks list of wins as a car owner.
