When she was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Country music legend Dolly Parton refused the nomination but later acquiesced and allowed the nomination to go through.
Now a member of the Country Music and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame, Parton has decided that now is the time to make a rock album. Parton has solicited a little help from a couple of rock divas with P!nk, Brandi Carlile, and Stevie Nicks. Steven Tyler, Steve Perry, and Sir Paul McCartney will also be appearing on the album. Parton also hopes to get Sir Mick Jagger and Cher to join her on her debut rock album.
Speaking on her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year Parton said, “I didn’t feel like I had earned it. … If I’m gonna be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I’m gonna have to do something to earn it.
Speaking on the upcoming album, Parton said that the album will feature covers of Classic rock songs. She mentioned “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones and “Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin by name.
