It’s the first cutoff race for the Camping World Truck Series when they run the Fr8Auctions 250 on the high banks of Talladega Speedway. By the end of the race the field of eight playoff drivers will be cut to only six.

Thirty-six teams brought trucks to fill 32 spots.

After two rounds of qualifying David Gilliland wins the pole position and will bring the field to the green. Gilliland has swept both the poles for the Talladega races this season.

Norm Benning, Joey Gase, Ray Ciccarelli, and Jamie Mosley failed to qualify for the race.

Stages one and two of the race are only 20 laps each with stage three lasting 54 laps for a total of 94 laps around the 2.66 mile track.

Like Daytona, Talladega is known for “the big one” with its high speed racing.

David Gilliland brings the field down for the green flag start of the race from the inside land but it is Spencer Gallagher with a little push who gets out in front for the lead.

The top five are Spencer Gallagher, Grant Enfinger, Todd Gilliland, David Gilliland, and Timothy Peters.

Spencer Gallagher leads the first lap.

The top five drivers are separated by less than half a second.

Lap three, Spencer Gallagher hods on to the lead with Grant Enfinger a tenth of a second behind; David Gilliland, Matt Crafton, ad Noah Gragson round out the top five.

Drivers are getting three wide across the track.

Lap four, the drivers settle into the double file with Spencer Gallagher leading the way.

Joe Nemechek and David Gilliland are running the races with the teenage sons John Hunter and Todd also in the race.

Lap five, the top five are Spencer Gallagher, Grant Enfinger, David Gilliland, Matt Crafton, and Noah Gragson. After starting the race from the back of the field, Stewart Friesen and Johnny Sauter have moved into the top 10.

Lat 10 Johnny Sauter and Myatt Snider battle for the lead with the two drivers swapping back and forth.

Lap eleven, the top five are Johnny Sauter, Myatt Snider, Stewart Friesen, Justin Haley, and Myatt Snider. After leading the first nine laps, Spencer Gallagher has dropped to 15th.

Lap 13 Johnny Sauter is in the lead with Myatt Snider right behind; Matt Crafton, Noah Gragson, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five.

Lap 15, Johnny Sauter has a tenth of a second lead with Grant Enfinger and Myatt Snider swapping back and forth for second.

Lap 16 Grant Enfinger takes the lead of the race.

Lap 17, Grant Enfinger leads with Johnny Sauter in second; Myatt Snider, John Hunter Nemechek, and David Gilliland round out the top five.

A few drivers bring their trucks down pit road early for service and will stay out on the track to begin stage two.

Taking only fuel, Matt Crafton wins the race off of pit road. Noh Gragson, Johnny Sauter, Todd Gilliland, Myatt Snider, Stewart Friesen, and Justin Haley also took fuel only. Grant Enfinger and Brett Moffitt took only two tires.

David Gilliand was charged with pitting outside of his pit box and was assessed a one lap penalty.

Brett Moffit will have to restart the race from the back of the field after having an uncontrolled tire on pit road.

Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 25.

Spencer Gallagher passes Austin Hill for the lead with Noah Gragson in second; Austin Hill, Matt Crafton, and Johnny Sauter round out the top five.

Lap 27, the top five are Austin Hill, Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, Myatt Snider, and Spencer Gallagher.

Driver positions are changing quickly as one lane pushes ahead of the other.

Lap 29 Austin Hill holds on to the lead by a tenth of a second on Matt Crafton.

Lap 30, the top five are Austin Hill, Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, Spencer Gallagher, and Stewart Friesen.

Lap 34, Spencer Gallagher takes over the lead of the race with Austin Hill in second; Scott Lagasse Jr, Justin Haley, and Matt Crafton round out the top five.

Lap 35, Scott Lagasse Jr takes the lead of the race with Todd Gilliland in second.

Lap 36, Spencer Gallagher retakes the lead with Todd Gilliland in second; Matt Crafton, Johnny Sauter, and Ben Rhodes round out the top five.

A few drivers come down pit road for service before the end of the stage.

Lap 38, Tanner Thorson and Brett Moffitt make contact on the track but the track stays green. Brett Moffitt has a lot of damage to his car.

After coming down pit road early, Spencer Gallagher was charged with having an uncontrolled tire on pit road.

Stewart Friesen’s team was charged with crew members coming over the wall too soon.

Johnny Sauter has clinched a spot in the next round of the playoffs.

Brett Moffitt has gone a lap down with the team trying to repair damage to his truck.

Timothy Peters brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three on lap 46.

Lap 47, the top five are Grant Enfinger, Timothy Peters, Parker Kligerman, John Hunter Nemechek, and Austin Hill.

Tanner Thorson brings out the first on track caution flag of the day on lap 49 from what appears to be a blown tire.

Stewart Friesen is on pit road with the hood up but no reports of what the issue is.

Matt Crafton brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 53 but it is Grant Enfinger who gets out in front of the field first. Crafton makes the pass to retake the lead with John Hunter Nemechek in second.

Lap 53, the top five are Matt Crafton, John Hunter Nemechek, Austin Hill, Todd Gilliland, and Johnny Sauter.

Pit reporters announce that Stewart Friesen is having some sort of an engine issue; back on the track, his is off the pace.

Lap 56, Todd Gilliland takes the lead of the race.

The top five are Johnny Sauter, Todd Gilliland, Timothy Peters, Matt Crafton, and Grant Enfinger.

Scott Lagassee Jr is slowed on the track, but the track stays green.

Lap 59, Grant Enfinger takes the lead of the race with Johnny Sauter in second; Chris Fontaine, Justin Haley, and Timothy Peters round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out on 59 for “the big one” when Chris Fontaine gets sideways and catches up several drivers.

NASCAR has red flagged the race.

Parker Kligerman, Matt Crafton, Ben Rhodes, Johnny Sauter, Justin Haley, Spencer Gallagher, John Hunter Nemechek, Justin Fontaine, Chris Fontaine, and Bo LeMastus were all involved in the crash.

After an eleven minute red flag, NASCAR displays the caution flag. Team with crash damage may now begin making repairs on their trucks.

Grant Enfinger was charged with leaving put road with equipment when the gas man does not get the gas can out of the truck before Enfinger leaves his pit.

The teams were approaching green flag pit stops when the crash occurred.

Todd Gilliland and Jennifer Jo Cobb make up the front row and bring the field down for the green flag restart with 31 laps remaining in the race. Dad David Gilliland pushed son Todd Gilliland to the lead.

Austin Hill was charged with going below the yellow line.

Lap 64, the top five are Todd Gilliland, David Gilliland, Timothy Peters, Myatt Snider, and Korbin Forrister.

With 28 laps remaining in the race, there are 19 trucks on the lead lap.

Pit reporters reveal that Stewart Friesen’s team believes their engine difficulties are drive train related.

Only 25 laps remain in the race, Todd Gillialnd has a tenth of a second lead on dad David; Timothy Peters, Myatt Snider, and Bryan Dauzat round out the top five.

Twenty one to go, Grant Enfinger leads the race with Justin Haley in second; Brett Moffitt, Timothy Peters, and Myatt Snider round out the top five.

Lap 75, the top 10 drivers are separated by less than a second with Grant Enfinger leading the way.

Lap 80, Brett Moffitt returns to the track after coming down pit road with a flat tire.

Grant Enfinger leads the race with Todd Gilliland in second; David Gilliland, Robby Lyons, and Bryan Dauzat round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out on lap 82 when Todd Gillialnd takes a hard hit into the wall a spun around. Gilliland made contact with leader Grant Enfinger before spinning out the hitting the wall.

As the team continues to make mechanical repairs, Stewart Friesen’s team now believes that their engine issues are in the rocker arm.

Grant Enfinger brings the field down for the green flag restart with only six laps remaining in the race. Grant Enfinger jumps out in front for the lead but Enfinger spins out and Justin Haley takes the lead.

The top five are Justin Haley, Myatt Snider, Timothy Peters, Noah Gragson, and David Gilliland.

Four to go, Justin Haley is in the lead with Myatt Snider in second.

Noah Gragson takes the lead from the outside line with Timothy Peters in second.

Three to go, Noah Gragson has the lead; Timothy Peters is in second and Justin Haley in third.

Two to go, Noah Gragson has the lead with Timothy Peters in second.

Noah Gragson takes the white flag but Justin Haley comes up to take the lead. After the two swap the lead, Noah Gragson spins out and causes another wreck…and the caution flag.

Timothy Peters took the lead and has been declared the winner.
