The 12 finalists on “The Voice” have reached the Live Playoffs. The decisions are now out of the coaches hands and up to the American fans. And with the season already over half way complete, the competition is heating up.

The theme for tonight is songs that have a personal meaning to the singer.

Getting the night of music started off is Rayshun LaMarr from Team Adam. He chose “When Love Takes Over” for his performance. Host Carson Daly said that Rayshun electrified the room. Alicia noted that there is something so electric about Rayshun; adding his skills are not to be denied. Adam noted that Rayshun continues to amp it up with every performance; adding that at that moment he became the front runner.

Carson announced that each of the four finalists will be performing an original song.

Team Kelly’s Country singer Kaleb Lee with “Amazed” by Lonestar. Kaleb chose not to play his guitar this week. Former coach Blake Shelton said that it was regretful that he let Kaleb go; adding the performance was amazing. Saying that she has been a fan of Kaleb’s since the blinds, Kelly loved his voice; adding that he did an amazing job.

Team Alicia’s Jackie Foster chose the Britney Spears hit “Toxic” with her own spin on the song. Former coach Kelly compared the performance to Sandy Dee at the end of “Grease”; adding that it was sexy and cool. An excited Alicia said that the song was Jackie’s and a perfect cross section of who she is.

Carson Daly announced that again this season, artists who have their songs in the top 10 of the iTunes charts will have their votes multiplied by a factor of five.

Team Blake’s Spensha Baker chose Trisha Yearwood’s “Down on My Knees”. Adam noted that it is rare when a singer has it all…and she has it. Blake said that Spensha is one of his favourite singers to work with; adding that she is authentic and is doing exactly what she was meant to do.

Team Alicia’s Christiana Danielle chose the Great Big World hit “Say Something”. Kelly noted that the low tones in Christiana’s voice are so beautiful. Coach Alicia says that is constantly being taken by Christiana; adding that there is no one like her.

Team Kelly’s D.R. King took on Dido with “White Flag” and brought Kelly to her feet. Blake said that there is so many sounds to D.R.’s voice and is capable of doing so many things. Kelly called D.R. an amazing vocalist; adding she wants to hear the record he is going to make.

Team Adam’s Sharane Callister chose the new Shawn Mendes song “In My Blood”. Former coach Alicia said that there was something so special about Sharane; adding that has a power about her. Adam noted that it is very hard to tell when an artist will make it; adding that Sharane has the ability to bring people along with her when she performs.

Team Blake’s Blues Rocker Pryor Baird chose “Pickin’ Wildflowers” by Keith Anderson for this performance. Amid screams from the audience, Kelly said that every time Pryor sings, she wants to go out and have a good time. Blake said that Pryor is to a song like a bulldozer is to trees.

The youngest singer in the competition is Team Kelly’s Brynn Cartelli sang “Up to the Mountain” by Patty Griffon. Alicia said noted that the 15 year old is following her daydream; adding that she has a capacity from another world. Kelly said that Brynn constantly shocks her; noting that she has an eclectic taste in music.

Team Adam’s Jackie Verna sang the Avril Lavigne song “I’m with You”. Blake said that Jackie is direct when she sings; adding that she is a great singer. Adam noted that Jackie’s growth has been explosive; adding that she rose to the challenge of the song.

Team Alicia’s Britton Buchanan performed a song that has never been done on the show when he sang “Small Town” by John Mellencamp. After the performance Alicia was screaming. Kelly called Britton the coolest person ever; adding that he is an old soul. Alicia said, on the record she thanked Blake for blocking Adam. Alicia that Britton doesn’t need the stage because his destiny is to be here; adding that all they want to do is see him play.

Closing out the night of music is Team Blake’s Kyla Jade singing “One Night Only” by Jennifer Hudson. Kylea used to sing background for Jennifer Hudson. In the video clip, Blake called Kyla a world class singer. After the performance the coaches were on their feet and Carson said that she is not a backup singer any more. Blake said on behalf of himself..and Jennifer…welcome to the front of the stage; adding that she owned it and it was time to start mowing them down.
